Business Problem -
Expense Management, which is predominantly used in Finance, has periodically been a part of Finance or Supply Chain release notes which is not current situation. However, the current release notes related to Expense management have segregated these updates into Project Operations instead of Finance and Operations, making it unclear and affecting our testing processes. This lack of clarity is impacting both our go live and post go live phases.
Our primary concern is that our client is utilizing only Finance capabilities, making the releases in Project Operations irrelevant for our review. However, since parts of the Expense Management capabilities are now being released in Project Operations, this poses a high risk for us during upgrades.
Proposed Idea -
To avoid the inconsistency for the business users who are only installed Finance and operations and Expense Management is integrated with various applications like Finance, Supply Chain, and Project Operations, the releases should be presented in a common area to ensure we can understand and manage them effectively.
Example Scenario -
For instance, in version 10.0.46, Features/Releases for Expense Management are highlighted in Project Operations, while defects for the same are mentioned and released in Finance and Supply Chain, creating an inconsistency and confusions about the new enhancements and releases for the business users who are using only Finance and operations.
