Remove Reservation Entries for items on a sales order when the Whse Pick has been registered and the Whse Shipment is Deleted.:

With advanced warehousing turned on and item lot tracking, Reservation Entries are created (in table 337) when a Warehouse Pick is registered. Sometimes after this occurs we decide that the shipment will not go out and the Warehouse Shipment is deleted. This leaves item Reservation Entries in the table than can manually be canceled. It would be best if they were deleted when the Whse Shipment is deleted.

A worse situation is that the sales order is canceled after the Whse Pick is registered and the Whse Shipment is deleted. Now if the sales order is deleted, there is NO WAY for any user to cancel those reservation entries!

(I know this situation exists on Business Central 2019 Wave 1 (version 14) and prior versions of BC and NAV. I would guess that this issue still exists on the current BC version).

This has to be fixed soon.

We wrote a process to delete the reservation on manual deletion of the warehouse shipment. We are still testing to make sure there is nothing we missed as it seems to simple to just delete the reservation when you delete the whse shipment form the page? ANything you can think of that might blow up?
