This would be a massive help. Users often find duplicate assets, if both of them have associations to transactional records it is a pain to 'merge' them as so many records are involved.

This would be great. A lot of our cases must be logged with temporary assets as the customers can't/ won't provide serial number.Once the temporary asset detail is updated with the details engineer finds, we could end up with duplicate.Merge assets definitely needed to have all of the related records such as history together. Please up vote!
