Hi Microsoft.

There was a function before Brexit documented here:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/finance-how-validate-vat-registration-number

However, since Brexit https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/ this service isn't available to the UK.

HMRC have created a new API to account for this:
https://developer.service.hmrc.gov.uk/api-documentation/docs/api/service/vat-registered-companies-api/1.0

So, will Microsoft build this back in as a standard function? If not, a solid answer of NO would be appreciated. As a partner we develop this and another partner might release an Extension/ISV module for purchase. If yes, we need a timescale.

there should be an option to have a default endpoint which we currently have but in the template also have a separate link that triggers to look at if failed in VIES. this is a major issue and needs to be looked at. its pointless having to disable this feature because VIES website doesn't have a parameter to validate.

Yes it would be very nice to have the HMRC link as opposed to just shrugging and telling customers to paste the link into their web browser manually.
