A dialog with a create record step can cause duplicates if the user selects next, selects previous button, and then next again.
This issue was raised in a previous connect request -- https://connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions/Feedback/Details/794490
Disabling previous button would assist in resolving the issue of the duplicate creation.
Another option would be enhance the cancel button in the dialog to also cancel related steps.
