We are both a manufacturer and a distributor. The parts we both make and purchase items. We also sell those items and use them in further assembly and manufacturing. We would like the ability to configure an alert, a notification, or a workflow, that would be triggered when supply becomes available for demand. Below is the overall description, as well as all our use cases.
Requirement: Leverage Business Central to automatically notify critical stakeholders, with allocation logic, that specific supply has become available to fulfill backorder demand.
- Allocation Logic = rules that assist with determining what backorder demand gets fulfilled by specify supply when there is more demand than supply.
- Specific Supply = inventory that has become available through the receipt of a purchase order OR output of a production order.
- Backorder Demand = sales orders AND production orders that are waiting for specific supply to fulfill.
