Seems odd that you cannot export a posted sales invoice directly to Excel?

For example a customer calls up with a query on the invoice you want to look up some data on, but the invoice is huge there is no way to easily export the data to excel only to a pdf or word?

The only viable options seem to be...
- Export to Word and copy/paste the table into excel.
- Create configuration package to export the relevant tables

Just seems to be a really long way around doing things for normal day to day staff. To be honest anything that is displayed in a table should be able to be sent to excel to view really. Seems to be an issue on most posted documents and other things like items by location where you see data in tables but don't have the ability to open it in excel.

Seems odd how limiting the exporting of data is overall on Business Central? With it being a Microsoft product you would imagine Excel functionality would be a bit more native across the software.

Hi, my organisation is currently upgrading from an older version of NAV to Business Central.
In NAV we can export any table, or page to Excel, but going in to Business Central this is limited and will be problematic for users once we go Live.
I would like to propose that you make all tables and pages available to export to excel and also provide the ability to allocate permissions per user on what tables they're allowed to export*.

The other option for us would be to create BI reports that replicate the views in BC, then we can filter and export, but despite the additional effort required to get this capability it would mean having to use multiple systems to get the information we want. Which seems like a step back over for us.

*I think this is what the comments indicate the change should have been per this request. Not an on/off switch for the entire export to excel feature.
