Context
In Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys, when creating email templates, corporate branding elements like:
- Brand colors (aligned with corporate identity guidelines),
- Sender name and address (reply-to information),
must currently be manually embedded into each individual email template. This makes maintenance time-consumingand error-prone, especially when brand elements change (e.g., rebranding, domain changes, sender adjustments).
Current Limitation
- Email templates are static: Once created, they embed branding manually.
- No dynamic link to a Brand Profile (which centrally manages brand-related settings like sender details and visual identity).
- Any change (e.g., new company name, reply address, color adjustments) requires manually editing every single template.
- This is highly inefficient, particularly in environments with large template libraries across multiple brands or legal entities.
Requested Improvement
➡️ Introduce a dynamic association between an Email Template and a Brand Profile (similar to how the sender selection works in the actual email journey):
- At the template level, allow selecting or connecting a Brand Profile.
- At runtime, automatically apply the brand profile settings (sender details, colors, logo, etc.) without hard-codingthem into the template content itself.
- This would ensure that if the Brand Profile changes, all templates referencing it inherit the update automatically — no manual update across templates required.
Comments
Yes, this would be a great addition! It is possible to do with a workaround from Megan V. Walker, but it is a hassle. It should be an integrated part of CIJ.
