An intercompany relationship is setup between 2 companies. Both companies are using the same ledger accounts for due to and due from. An intercompany transaction is entered in the general journal. The lines of the voucher are marked as a Reversal and a Reversing date is entered.

When the original voucher is posted, the Due from ledger account is posted (company A) and the Due to ledger account is posted (company B) in the other company. When the reversing entry posted, the customer expected the reversal to reverse exactly what was posted. Instead, the reversing voucher for company A posted to the Due to ledger account and company B posted to the Due from ledger account.

A solution could be to include the intercompany accounting setup form should include a centralized customer/vendor payment dropdown for accruals.
