When printing the "Compare item prices" from the cost version form, it's currently only possible to compare a pending cost to the active cost within the same cost version. I.e. the pending cost and active cost record must be in the same cost version.  It would be helpful to be able to compare the active cost to a pending cost in a new cost version.  You would have this when preparing a new standard cost and you want to see how the new version would affect you cost.

This is already possible in the current report. You can also compare to pending prices/cost that are based on different assumptions .

1: You mark the Costing version holding the pending prices/cost

  • In the report dialog you select “Active” in Price used for comparison > Source

2: You mark any costing version

  • In the report dialog you select “Pending” in Price used for comparison > Source
  • You can then select which Costing version you will compare against

Yes, we have tried that and the report prints out empty.

I submitted a support ticket on this and was told it could only compare within the same cost version and not from one to another.

Thanks,
