With the upgraded look and feel of the Timeline in Wave 2 2022, the Reply All and Forward icons were moved into a drop down. This is now an extra click for users. For us in particular, we always use the Reply All button because we can't see who all was on the original email without opening the email record, and for us we do a lot of quick replies.

I agree this is a pain, especially given no mention was made in the 2022 release wave 2 documentation around this "feature change" being dropped on us. We, like many other MS clients, try to do our due diligence and change manage our end-users through any upcoming feature changes or deprecations. These kinds of surprises are very much unappreciated by end-users.

It is hard to determine where the Dynamics 365 development team are heading with this feature, given it does not align with their own email client behaviour. Outlook, when in compact view mode, presents a drop-drop carat type of behaviour without making any assumptions about which of the quick options (i.e. Reply, Reply All, Forward) should be presented as the main option.

Dynamics 365, on the other hand, now defaults to "Reply All" outside the carat drop-down, or the carat disappears altogether when the "Reply All" button is dropped from the timeline configuration. Neither of these options are intuitive for the end-user.

Please return the shortcuts for Reply, Reply All and Forward in the timeline email activity command bar, or make the default option configurable for each timeline instance.
