Currently you have to define the reorder points (min/max) for each released product individually. But what if you have a new spare and a rebuilt spare? Most companies want to designate a different part number for the new part vs. the rebuilt part. You cannot manage inventory that way because Master Planning will stock each item separately. The same goes for different parts that are interchangeable.

It would be useful to be able to group items and define a minimum requirement for all the item on-hand quantities combined. When the combined total falls below the min, Master Planning would then generate the Planned Order for the designated primary item.
