When creating an install template from the Dynamics GP Install Media it defaults to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\". However, when using that template to perform a client install, it installs Dynamics GP in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2018" directory. The Install Location should be the location specified in the form when creating the Template.

Thank you for submitting your suggestion to Dynamics GP. We appreciate your input and the time you took to share your ideas with us. However, due to the current lifecycle and the nature of the change, we will not be able to consider it at this time.
This is a documented issue with installation packages including those made with the GP 18.2 DVD media where, while the regular install defaults to a \Microsoft Dynamics\GP directory as mentioned, the install package uses \Microsoft Dynamics\GP2018 instead.
I don't think this is anything we will fix as there is an easy workaround and that is to not use default path, specify a different path.
