It is not only about the display language for users. It has mainly to do with language settings on customers and suppliers and the translation of labels up to sales document layouts. For now it is very confusing to have more then 5 French language variants. This will give errors on the sales layout documents, while chosen the wrong language variant for a customer.

I think we need to have multiple language available, because it depends on the legal entities where one is registered, so it cannot only be English, Dutch, French, Spanish, German.
BUT what I do think, is we should not have languages variants. For each language, only 1 option is necessary.
And if that is not possible because some customers actually require these variants, we should then have the option to clean our list of languages in a more permanent or secure way, because as mentioned, if someone refreshes the list they just appear again.

I am not sure how 365FO works, but in 365BC, the program/client folder has a lot of different language folders. If you copy the languages, you don't need into a subfolder called e.g. "Disabled languages", then only the language folders still remaining in the client folder will be shown as an option in the client.
