It would be helpful to be able to store in the inventory setup whether a lot or serial no. information is automatically created with an initial entry or not. This would make the annoying manual creation of these information cards obsolete and help many customers.

Thank you for your feedback. We released this feature as part of the functionality in "Automatic creation of lot and serial number information cards".

Please refer to the following link for more information:

Allows you to set flags on Item Tracking Card:
'Create Lot No. Info. on posting': Specifies that if the Lot No. Information card is missing for the document line, the card will be created during posting.
'Create SN Info. on posting': Specifies that if the Serial No. Information card is missing for the document line, the card will be created during posting.
Odd that "posting" is not capitalised in the field name, but not a big issue.

Does what is says on the tin.

This has a lot of uses if Lot/Serial Info is useful to you - However if you want to record any useful data you would normally do that before Posting, so will create it manually anyway.
It would have been more useful if they had provided direct access to the Lot/Serial Information Cards from the Inventory Put-away & Pick Lines.

Agreed. Any manual process that can be automated on a selective basis reduces the time and likelihood of error. The check box on the item is excellent.

We have done this several times for our customers, it is a simple extension but it would be nice if it were stock
