Goal:

Save time while selling configurable products (effect is big). Avoid mistakes by giving predefined options per configurable item so salespersons have no option to choose non-compatible components etc.

Solution:

Create Item type configurable which will generate required lines on order where making selection is mandatory.

On every line it is mandatory select one option (item). It should be option to choose if price shown is per line or summarized to one line (configurable item). Potential solution could be related to BOM assembly just figuring out how to use it as configurator.

Most people in business say that one and only asset is Time. Same time most people keep wasting time when they should not. Improving functionality where it really matters will help to increase efficiency and sales.
