When we process Assemblies with serial ( or lot numbers ) the process takes longer than if they are not tracked.
This is the current reply from Microsoft and we hope this can be improved:-
If the client needs to link their finished goods serial/lot numbers, then the performance WILL typically be slower than when this is not allowed. This is because the application must insert a record for each individual quantity of the lot numbered components into the Bill of Materials Assembly Serial Lot table.
If the assembly transaction is for a quantity of 3000, then each tracked component will get 3000 records inserted into this table. This is because there must be a one-to-one relationship between the finished good serial or lot number and the component's serial or lot number.
You could try say 10 Assemblies of 300 qty instead of 1 assembly of 3000. This may process faster.
But, if they are linked, there isn't anything we can do to speed up the processing.
