As a Foodservice Company that uses Dynamics 365 as a Store Operations Platform for our retail food stores, I was floored when I learned Master planning / Planning optimization does not support Catch Weight items. At this point, there are no plans to add catch weight support to the master planning process. I do not know how this is possible for a platform targeted for supporting a retail operation to exclude such an integral part of the product sales type known as Catch Weight Sales? I find it hard to believe I am typing this. But at US Foods, Chef'Store we sell thousands of products in our stores and MANY of them are sold by the pound and involve Catchweight. Meat, Seafood, and Produce are significant categories for us and to learn that we are not supported for products sold by weight and specifically Catch Weight Case units is very costly to us in our daily store productivity. After we went to 10.0.17 upgrade and transitioned from the old Master Planning platform to the new Planning Optimization platform that replaced it as a required upgrade we noticed something very destructive. CWCS (Catch Weight Case) totals are entered in POs and the after Firming (approving) them for processing, the case totals are blank. The CWCS entries are removed. This means managers need to go back and correct missing case quantities. This is a serious inconvenience for our store management and I am certain it has led to errors in which dropped entries were not caught and corrected. PLEASE HELP US.
