For a product that has been up issued, there are cases where we deactivate the previous iterations of the product due to some form of fault or problem at which we would only want the new version to be sold. This product is, however, found in multiple BOMs across the product range and each BOM will need to be updated to reflect the use of the new version.

Thanks for your input! If it gets voted, we will consider it for the long term roadmap.
This is already possible in the application using the following functionality in a half automated way:
- If you do not track the version in transactions, if you inactivate one version and change the effectivity dates, the next one will be automatically applied for all bill of materials. However, you should know that there is no action applied as such in the physical inventory, you would have to manually scrap/discard the version of the item if desired in the warehouse.
- If you do track the version in transactions, it is possible to add all the bill of maerials where the version is used by using the "where-used, and then making the change one by one". Not fully automated, but to consider if it should be changed in each of the bills of materials.
