As it was done for production BOMs, it would be really helpful to have the possibility to define different assembly BOMs for different SKUs of the same item.

As it is now, if we have several variants of an item which are in fact assembled with different item/variants,we are forced to use one of these workarounds/configurations:

• Use the same assembly BOM for all variants AND modify the components inside the assembly order, which is not particularly straightforward
• Define the different variants as different items, which is not entirely right, as all variants are the same items except for a component or a little detail.

Hope this request will be considered for a future implementation.
