We have a main production site with a separate warehouse where we store a surplus stock of both production and purchase items.

We only receive deliveries and manufacture production items at our main production site.

In order for MRP to consider stock held at the separate warehouse, we would have to set up a refilling arrangement of our main production site from our separate warehouse.

However by doing this, our default order settings (i.e. default purchase and inventory site/warehouse) are disregarded and replaced by the refilling warehouse. When MRP runs, in cases where the demand exceeds on hand stock, the planned orders are raised against the refilling warehouse, not our main production site.

I do not see the logic of this - the default order settings should be applied, regardless of a refilling relationship. This would give me a choice as to which site or warehouse I want any planned orders to be raised against. I currently have no way of instructing MRP not to generate planned orders on the refilling warehouse.
