On the sales quote it is possible to fill in a delivery date (requested or promised).
However a specific date is in most cases not possible, as this date will be dependent on when the quote is accepted.

Therefore in many implementations, the customer asks for a 'Delivery time' field: a no. of days/weeks/months.
This can then be either a date formula or an option field with a number of default options to choose from.

In NAV, there was a delivery time filed that was a free text field.

I could just type in something like:

2-4 weeks ARO (after receipt of order)

This would give the customer had an idea of the lead delivery time for the entire quotation, and then on the individual items, I would add extended text to add the lead time per item, if needed.

Obviously, this can be a developer addition, but I think that it should be a standard in the quotation header.

If I'm getting a quote from a vendor, I want to know what my price is, and how long it'll take to get it. I'm shocked that this isn't a system standard.
