According to the documentation at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/journeys/email-insights#link-insights, the link insights feature currently applies only to newly created emails. Given the value this functionality provides, we would like to request that it also be extended to existing emails to enhance consistency and usability.
