In the past a user could create a note, type the content and then leave the note and it would auto-save the note without forcing the user to click on the 'Create Note' button. This works well with call centers when they are working with a client on the phone and they are in a hurry. This prevents one extra button click and possibly more on updates. It is important to design systems with the 'amount of clicks' to success. If you design a new form, you should not be adding to the amount of clicks it takes to complete a scenario. It would be at least nice to have it as an option.
