Business Central currently supports Minimum Order Quantity only at Item/SKU level. However, in practice a minimum quantity can apply to a group of related items or variants, whether for external purchasing or for internal production/assembly.

For example, Item A and Item B belong to Group X with a shared MOQ of 1,500 units:

  • Item A requirement: 800
  • Item B requirement: 900
  • Combined requirement: 1,700

The MOQ is therefore already satisfied, and Business Central should suggest 800 units of A and 900 units of B within the same replenishment order.

Today, setting an MOQ of 1,500 on both items would incorrectly treat each item as having its own minimum and could result in unnecessary overstock.

The requested functionality would allow users to define a Shared MOQ Group containing multiple Items, SKUs and/or Variants. The planning engine should calculate each requirement normally, evaluate the MOQ against the combined group quantity, and consolidate the corresponding replenishment lines into the same purchase, production, or assembly order.
