A little bit of context: at the end of 2024/start of 2025 we implemented Dynamics 365 CE (Sales + Customer Insights - Journeys) for the customer. At the time we compared the two available add-ins: Copilot for Sales and Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. During this implementation we decided to use the Copilot for Sales Outlook add-in, to be able to track appointments and emails.

 

However, after the go live, the customer reported that they were not able to do the following:

 

  • Track recurring appointments from Outlook to CE
  • Track appointments from delegated calendars from Outlook to CE

 

After some research, we found out that Copilot for Sales does not support the above features. We now proposed to deploy the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, so that they can use this app for the missing features. Now they can use the requested functionality via two apps, however in the end they would like to use one app which includes all of those functionalities (Copilot + tracking (recurring) activities + tracking activities from delegated calendars).
