A specific number sequence can be setup for each asset group. Upon creation of an individual asset via user interface, based on the selected fixed asset group, the next value in the number sequence is assigned.

This however doesn't work if multiple assets are created in bulk via Data Management. When fixed asset number is set to auto in the mapping of the data entity, the system defaults to the generic number sequence from the fixed asset parameters.

Since most companies have a different number sequence by asset group, and fixed assets are often created in bulk, this is a much needed alignment of data management with the system behavior via user interface.
