Currently, menu items within the Accounts Receivable module include the term “Sales” (e.g., sales orders, sales invoice functions). However, licensing reports classify these under Finance or other applicable F&O licenses, not the SCM License.
From a governance perspective, organizations often interpret access and licensing impact based on visible module and menu item naming within the system. When terminology such as “Sales” appears, it may incorrectly imply dependency on the Dynamics 365 Sales license.
Suggestion:
Consider one of the following improvements:
Improve transparency in license reporting to clearly map menu items to their associated F&O license.
Provide clearer documentation within the License report explaining module-to-license relationships.
Business Impact:
This would reduce audit confusion, improve clarity during license true-ups, and prevent misinterpretation of license requirements.
