The Currency Translation function in the Consolidation online module – it does not revalue opening balances.

Currently only operating balances are included in the Consolidation online process. Therefore, to see opening balances, you must still run a year-end close in the consolidation company. (Financial consolidations and currency translation overview - Finance | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs)

The suggested idea is to include Opening balances in the Currency translation function.
