I think a real improvement must be implemented related to this. When we have BigText and BLOB data types, we should have an out of the box solution to store data in this type of fields, like a TextArea, Multiline (more than 3 lines), WYSIWYG control, etc.The extended text functionality just doesnt cover this need. We have a limit per line, so you will never be able to store a proper product description for example, like you see in most of online shops. Right now I'm wrinting this post in a WYSIWYG control. I miss one of this in the OutOfTheBox business central, so I can easily make a customization , and save BigText/BLOB data in any table. I would love to have a text editor like this in a Standard Dialog. I'm having a hard time, trying to explain to my customers that Business Central hasn't got a proper "Web Description" field in the Item Card.

Yes, but to fit a 100+ character description, you have to manually cut up the descriptions to fit them in 100 character boxes, then upload them through a template. When you have thousands of items with completely different formats, dividing descriptions take significant time and is a very manual process leaving room for error.

I like this idea. We loved it when the item description was increased to 100 characters but find that many of our items require a longer description than this. In response to the extended text comment above, these are awkward to do the initial setup, are not visible on the item card without dipping into the menu and don't provide the same continuous text that a longer description would. Honestly, we would be happy with a 500 characters total for this field.

You should use the extended text with the auto extended text feature on the item fro this.
It will put the extended text on all the documents you specified automatically.
