Items gets locked on InventTable during production order scheduling (production order created from the item).
Items can have changes all the time (e.g. their BOM or route), and their changes do not impact to those production orders that were created before the change. Therefore, locking does not seem to be reasonable.
Locks reduce performance in production order scheduling, which causes major dissatisfaction from customers when fast response would be highly needed, e.g. in healthcare.
Proposal: Allow user to choose if locking is wanted to be enabled or not by creating a new parameter to control it. Or, if not seen to be needed, remove it all together from D365FO.
