Financial dimensions, both on the worker record and on the position record, must be exposed to CDS and added to the standard integration template.
Business scenario: the financial dimensions are needed in D365FO. No HR person likes the current setup where he needs to go to the HR module in D365FO to finish the setup of a new worker resp., new position.

In addition it would make sense to derive the employment default dimension from the position default dimension when carrying out a hiring process or a position change of a worker.

There are financial dimensions on the employment record in DMF and Dataverse (as the DimensionDisplayValue), but that doesnt seem to work smoothly for simple things like department changes. When you try to use employment to capture a switch from one area (dimensions) to another, it messes up things like the years of service. I would like to see proper "effectivity dates" on the dimensions so we can do reporting on "number of employees in this department on this date". But there are side effects that have to be managed too.

Can the financial dimensions also be enhanced to be date effective. Currently changes to default financial dimensions and dimension distribution templates aren't shown in the Changes Timeline. I've tried to edit the effective date on the personnel action when changing financial dimensions, but this seem to have no effect (even if I specify an effective date in the future, the change is committed immediately and there is no way of seeing what the previous dimension values were that were changed or what the effective date should be). This is a significant gap as mid period changes cannot be reported to F&O or payroll accurately.

This is a showstopper for our deployment - we really can't have an ERP that won't send critical financial data from HR to Finance or Payroll. They absolutely should be in the CDS.

In addition to this remark: Financial dimensions are not only needed in F&O, they are also needed for reporting and payroll integrations.
Financial Dimensions which are assigned to the employment record of the worker, or the position should therefore be displayed in the CDS.
