In D365 if we need to create a new label and assign that to Label or Help text of an item, we have to create label in the label file and then paste in the object. There is no way by which via the object properties we can create a new label or edit existing one. There should be an ability to create a new label or edit the existing one when we go through object properties where Label or help text is provided.

The label editor is needed as a separate construct to separate the label definition from the label use. We'll look at ways to speed up the creation of labels in the future.

Planned for nearly 6 years now. Any new on this?

I can recommend you all download and try Ax label creator (axbackup.com) and give it a go. It's written by my previous colleague that now works for MS on FinOps.

Should solve your problems.

What's the status on this idea? We would like to know Microsoft's recent developments towards a better label editor, and Release 2020 Wave 1 has already been released.

"The label editor is needed as a separate construct to separate the label definition from the label use"

Is this really necessary ? Why not combine both ... entering a new label in the object leads us automatically to the label editor ... would be easier to use

This is in the plan, we appreciate the vote and the comments on this.

+1 one both comments.

It is of great value to be able to see what Microsoft already has translated different terms into. And maintaining a label in different languages is a pain as the label editor works now.

And show the found labels in different languages in the search result as in 2012!

Yes, and if we could get an option to create labels for several languages in the same go - that would also remove the need for a lot of copy and pasting.
