With reference to case 120083121001310, customer had customized data entity with name “transfer order composite” which was the parent entity and the child entities “Transfer order headers” and “Transfer order lines” which are standard entities. While importing the XML file, system was throwing the error as
“Inventory dimension Site is mandatory and must consequently be specified.
Results. Location SW does not exist in warehouse.
Results. Update has been canceled”

All the possibilities of logistics set up of warehouses and related Locations were checked by functional person as well but found no error.

Later customer came to know that the error was not on that point. Error was that the Transfer order number was not replicated to lines from header and the lines are not getting the details of siteId from header section and showed the error to us related to the siteId.

So, customer requested us to share the below message with the Microsoft team to enhance the details of error message in D365 F&O
“I have a small request please to share the message with Microsoft to show the exact error message in the system as much as possible otherwise error would be in one place and we will search it in another place”.
