The new lightweight Outlook App is available for use with Outlook for Mac, and even OWA. You need 2016 and must configure Server-Side Synchronisation to use this, and it is mainly for email (but also creating Contacts and some other functionality), so does not enable tracking of appointments, tasks, contacts in the same way as the full Outlook client does.
