As with all of eConnect, we try to mimic GP core functionality as best as possible. In some cases, we are not exactly the same – it appears this is one of those areas. Core GP will look to the document date first – if that rate expiration date is less than the posting date, we discard the document date rate, and try to pull the rate again based on the batch posting date. eConnect will pull the exchange rate based on the document date only, regardless of expiration date vs. posting date.

If you would like to see this functionality altered in a future version of GP, I would recommend entering in a Product Suggestion. This is the most powerful tool at our disposal to bring visibility to Development, and drive change within Microsoft Dynamics GP. Development reviews each suggestion very seriously when determining what GP’s upcoming features will be. The more votes the suggestion gets, the higher the likelihood it will be included in an upcoming release. This is an ideal method to let Development know that you’d like to see a specific change made within the product.
