Current Limitation:
When uploading an asset and creating new tags during the upload process, the tags are added to the global tag library but are not retained on the asset itself. As a result, the asset loses its association with those tags, requiring users to manually reapply them after upload.
Impact on Users:
- Extra manual steps: Users must re-tag assets after upload, which is inefficient.
- Risk of inconsistency: Tags may not be reapplied correctly, leading to poor asset organization and searchability.
- Workflow disruption: Marketing teams rely on tags for quick filtering and campaign execution; losing tags slows down operations.
Proposed Enhancement:
- When new tags are created during asset upload, ensure they persist on the asset as well as being added to the tag library.
- Apply this behavior consistently for both single and bulk uploads.
- Optionally, provide a confirmation prompt (e.g., “Apply new tags to this asset?”) for governance.
