We do have the Project No. and Project Task No. fields on the Sales Line, but as we know, these fields are non-editable in the standard system.

Normally, these fields come into the picture only when we invoice the billable entries from the planning lines and the Sales Invoice is created.

Could there be a possibility to enable these fields directly on Sales Orders and Sales Lines, and allow shipment posting to the customer along with the related project information? Once the shipment is posted, the system could automatically record the actual cost against the project as an actual consumption.

There have been situations where, instead of directly consuming the item for the project, the product first needs to be shipped to the customer for that specific project, and then the cost should be recorded at the project level.
