It should be possible to change the pre selected Schedule Mode from the Project Header on the task. This makes it easier to plan task deppending on the different requirment of work.

Example. If the shedule mode on the project header is "Duration" and I have a task where I want the system to change the duration based on the effort, I want to change this single task to schedule mode Effort.

I think this functionality was available in Project Service Automation

In Project Service Automation, you had an option to change the value for 'Mode' on Project Tasks (through the Schedule -tab on a Project), where you could switch from Auto to Manual. The latter indicating that no automatic task (re)calculation happens when changing Effort, Duration or Units (Resource allocations) on a project task. Setting it to 'Auto' resulted in a more Fixed Duration kind of (re)calculation -method happening.

Having the option to change this calculation behavior on Task -level is needed as Hans-Peter Dinser indicates!
