Since Intoducing Location Dimensions when using the Transfer order it does not assoicate itself with the From location Dimension. This functionality is still assuing the use of one location Dimension.

Location as a Dimension Issue on Stock Transfer transactions.

Summary of issue.

The customer is utilizing the location dimension for all stock movement transactions – they would like to see the stock being moved from a Central Location to the other 25 locations they have defined. Each ‘Location’ being a Profit Centre.

Stock is purchased into the Central Location and then with the use of Requisition worksheets ‘Stock Transfers’ are generated to move the stock physically and financially to various locations.

When using the Item Reclassification Journal to move stock from one location to another the system performs in the way the customer would expect. It generates stock movements and more importantly it stamps the transactions with the From and to location Dimensions on the transactions on the General Ledger Entries

However, when using the more formal Stock Transfer function it does not behave in the same way.

It doesn’t have the same feature in that each line does not have a from and to location therefore 2 location dimensions.
