Currently the way the Lead scoring works in Realtime Marketing has a massive flaw. It would be easy to have an Overall Score field that is a Rollup of related Lead score records that are Active. However, this isn't possible due to the following:


  1. Scoring model is created and made live. Lead score record is created for each Lead that meets at least one of the grouping in the model.
  2. User needs to make a change to the Scoring model so stops the model and makes their change. This makes the original scoring model record inactive and creates a new one.
  3. After republishing, the original Lead score record is kept Active, but a new one is created.
  4. A rollup field can only go so far in terms of any filtering. Ideally we would simply do a roll up for any Lead score records related to the Lead where the status is Active. However, the Lead score tab on the Lead filters to show Lead score records where the related Scoring model is Active. We can't do that with a Rollup field or a Formula field


Currently the only way to achieve this is to run a process to update the status of all Lead score records related to an Inactive Scoring Model record once the Scoring model is stopped then republished.


Having an Overall Score is a pretty important value for Sales and Business Development users to be reviewing when making decisions about which leads to invest their time and efforts in, not just Marketing.
