Due to an issue reported on July 27, 2025, "Issues with the data connection in the lakehouse created from the original FabricLink connection in the Dataverse".
Microsoft recommended relinking the fabric as a mitigation step. However, this action triggered a full initial synchronization of all tables in Synapse Link, which significantly impacted performance.
Given the size of our database, the synchronization process took approximately 3.5 days to complete. This duration is not optimal for production environments and can lead to extended downtime or delays in data availability.
We kindly request improvements to the design of the initial synchronization process. Specifically, we suggest the following enhancements:
- Optimize the initial synchronization to reduce processing time for large databases.
- Allow the initial synchronization to be performed by a specific time periods.
These improvements would greatly enhance the usability and efficiency of Synapse Link for large-scale databases.
