I'd like to be able to flag Customer Ledger entries (Sales Invoices and Cash Receipts) and prevent them from automatically applying when transactions are posted. For example, we collect deposits from customers and want to reserve that cash receipt for the future sales invoice that relates to that deposit. In the meantime, there may be other activity on the customer account that is eligible for automatic application. Currently we have to disable automatic application for the entire customer when there is a deposit on the account and we are forced to manually apply all other transactions that are processed. Users also forget to re-enable automatic application once the deposit is applied and it creates extra work. I'd like to use the Dispute functionality along with the On Hold and flag the specific cash receipt that is the deposit. The same functionality can be used when a customer disputes an individual charge. I don't want to prevent the customer from continuing to pay other invoices on the account and have them automatically apply.
