I have a client using Edit in Excel to import opening balance journal information. They have large volumes of data and frequently encounter an error while excel is working where the export session times out. They have to kill all excel sessions and start again. On average this is happening after approximately 2 minutes, so is nowhere near the 20 minute server session timeout you get when leaving BC un-attended.
There is currently no admin option/setting to change this setting. Current work around is to break the export into smaller chunks, which is not ideal if we are selling this feature as a friendly option for end-users. Working with configuration packages is fine for Consultants but not all Accounting/Finance staff have the skill-set for this level of data migration.
