Consider leaving the Shelf No field accessible for non-inventory items. Whilst I appreciate those items aren't subject to tracking or warehouse tasks, being able to record where they are kept could be useful to many.
I am aware it could be recorded as a note, but would be more consistent to have Shelf No.
