The ability to use automated inter company processing in multiple posting layers. Currently the intercompany set-up only allows the specification of one journal name and therefore posting to one layer only. This prevents this use of intercompany transactions in alternate posting layers as the transactions will be incorrectly posted to the wrong layer.

For example if the intercompany set-up is using a journal name that posts to the current layer. If you then post an intercompany journal to the operations layer the result will be an intercompany entry incorrectly posted to the current layer.
