Released products can be created via DMF with two entities

• Released Product Creation
• Released Engineering Product creation

The second entity is used for engineering version enabled items.

In the Released Product creation entity i can specify the Product number (product ID) AND the Item number (released product ID)

With that entity i am able to create a released item number (P0001) with a reference to a product with another ID (i.e. T001-P0001)

This is very usefull during the migration of items in a multi company environment, where every company has it's own product data set.

To prevent migration issues we add the Company ID to the ProductID to make the product ID company specific.

But....

We want to use Engineering version enabled items, so we need the Released Engineering Product creation entity And guess what? This entity doesn't contain a separate field for Item number and Product Number.....

The functionality of creation a specific productID and Released ProductID is already available. Why can't that functionality be include in the Released Engineering Product Creation entity ?
