The sales module in CRM does not easily provide metrics to support pipeline reporting - specifically pipeline velocity (time to close an opportunity from start) and days in sales stage. A standard field that calculates the total days (aka time spent in the Service module) from createdon to actualclosedate which has the ability to start show the total as the opportunity is open. Another standard field to calculate the total number of days an opportunity spent in each sales stage.
