This scenario occurs when an Order is created, Order Products are added to the Order and the pricing of the Order Product is changed.

If the Order record is opened after the pricing of the order product has been updated, the system updates the prices of the line items. In this case, the Order Product pricing is set to "Use Default" and the Order Products grid is displayed on the Order form.

Consider the following example:
An Order Product is created on 1/10 for the sale of 10 Widgets for $10/ea. with "Use Default" pricing.

The price of the widgets is increased to $11 on 1/11.

The user opens the Order record on 1/11 or later. In this scenario, the Order Product now displays incorrect pricing of $11/Widget even if the user has not opened the Order Product record itself. The Order Product is updated with a modifiedby user name of "SYSTEM".

An update on this issue: There is already functionality that allows the user control over whether the pricing of orders that have not yet been invoiced is allowed to fluctuate with the current prices in the price list. To prevent the pricing from being updated, the user can click the Lock Pricing button in the ribbon (in CRM 2011) and the pricing will not update. Regards, Derik Stenerson
