With native NAV SQL Server installations the client had access via SQL to build there own SQL Queries etc, and a lot of the time interrogate data in real-time as required.
With the implementation of BC in the Cloud this level of access to Data is being lost, while the are options to use the Web Services (OData and SOAP) calls etc this doesnt provide the same level of access to the data that the customers are wanting.
We have a customer for example that has over 50 reports plugged into SharePoint using SSRS moving to BC Cloud these are going to be lost.
Replication services are not good enough as provide historic detail only not realtime, we need something that provides SQL like access to realtime data.
Power BI, Jet, CDATA, QLIK etc all have connectors but dont offer the same real time access replicating the old SQL level of access to tables.
